Looking for a Game Development Tutor

Contact: [email protected]

Hello, my name is Cruz. I'm 13 and have been interested in game development for the past couple of years. Most of my work has centered on Unity, where I've been building small prototypes, experimenting with movement systems, designing simple interaction loops, and integrating my own art assets.

I've also spent time in Aseprite, creating and refining pixel-art sprites and converting them into Unity-ready assets. I have experience pulling in Unity Asset Store packages, troubleshooting integrations, and adapting assets to fit my own game concepts.

I've been learning C# as I build, originally leaning heavily on ChatGPT and Cursor's Claude integration. More recently, I've shifted toward using AI tools as a thinking partner rather than a code generator—working through ideas, debugging logic, and planning systems instead of relying on step-by-step outputs. One of my personal goals is to become more fluent and confident in C# so I'm not dependent on AI to write code for me.

I'm most motivated when working on projects I imagine myself. I work to develop game ideas with clear mechanics, themes, and visual direction. But sometimes the scope exceeds my current skill level. This is the main reason I'm looking for a tutor: someone who can help me expand my technical abilities in service of the ideas I already care about, rather than guiding me through a prescriptive curriculum.

I'm not seeking formal certificates or generic "learn Unity step-by-step" courses. What I want is a collaborator who can support me as I build my own projects and coach me toward more independence over time.

What I'm Looking For

In short, I'm looking for a teammate, not a traditional teacher.

Skills I've Already Explored

Unity Engine

C# Programming

Pixel Art & Asset Creation

Game Design Thinking

I'm at a stage where mentorship can have a huge impact — especially from someone who can both teach and collaborate, helping me translate ambitious ideas into functioning games.
